Aging, Memory and the Criminal Justice System
Dr. Laura Mosqueda will discuss how people over the age of 65 comprise the fastest growing segment of our population. Many elders in our society have a dementing illness such as Alzheimer’s Disease and it is clear that the presence of dementia increases the likelihood of abuse. In this session Dr. Mosqueda will explore the dynamics of memory, aging and dementia. Risk factors, red flags, and prevention of abuse will be discussed in the context of aging and memory loss.
